Small printer’s block map of the Great Lakes region.

This simply designed woodblock shows a group of twelve states centered around the Great Lakes; New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan. Crosses and asterisks in circles are noted next to major urban centers like Chicago, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, but I’m uncertain as to what they are referring. An interesting piece of handmade cartographic ephemera.
