General Terms
By using this site, you agree to follow the terms & conditions outlined below. All items on this website are offered subject to prior sale. Price and availability are subject to change without notice and we reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone, for any reason. Curtis Wright Maps reserves the rights to modify these terms & conditions at any time, but will provide all registered email addresses with a minimum of 7 days’ notice prior to modification of these terms. Finally, the content, images and information found on this website is to be used at one’s own risk and for general informational purposes only. Curtis Wright Maps does not accept liability for any incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate information provided.
Payment
The following methods of payment are accepted: Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), PayPal, wire transfers, cash and checks made payable in US dollars (drawn from a US account). Shipping addresses in Illinois will be charged 10.25% sales tax on all purchases, unless tax exemption documentation is provided.
Shipping
We will strive to ship your item as quickly as possible, generally within 24 hours of purchase. Unless otherwise requested, items will be shipped via UPS or USPS with no signature required. Shipping costs are a flat $10 for domestic purchases or $30 for international deliveries. This includes the cost of packaging (either flat pack or tube, depending on the map), insurance and tracking information. Oversized, framed, or other large material may incur additional shipping charges.
While we make our best efforts to ensure timely delivery of your packages, even the best courier services do not have perfect track records. Holidays and inclement weather can result in unforeseen delays. Please contact us directly if there is a specific date by which you need a map, or if you have any special requests for shipping your order.
Return Policy
Curtis Wright Maps offers full refunds, for any reason, within 14 days after delivery of the map. The item must be returned using the same shipping method at the buyer’s expense and in the same condition in which it was received. A refund will be issued within 7 days of the return. Returns after the 14 day window may be granted on a case by case basis.
Condition Descriptions
We take every effort to accurately (and conservatively) describe the condition of each item on the website using the grading system outlined in the chart below. Please note that many of these maps are over 100 years old and minor defects such as fold lines, ragged margins or slight discolorations are nearly unavoidable. Please review the digital image for any imperfections prior to purchase, and feel free to contact us at any time for further information regarding an item’s condition description.

| A+ | The map is in pristine condition, with no visible flaws or repairs. A rare designation for maps nearest to their original state. |
| A | The map is in superb condition with only slight imperfections outside the map's image, such as marginal soiling or professional repairs on the verso. |
| A- | A- The map is in excellent condition, with few visible defects such as edge tears or minor soiling/foxing. |
| B+ | B+ The map is in very good condition, but has some visible issues such as offsetting, creasing, or a tear within the map's image. |
| B | B The map is in very good condition, but may have larger tears (repaired using archival material), wormholes, fading, or other defects that affect the image of the map. |
| B- | B- The map is in good condition and generally complete, but has visible flaws such as fold loss, trimmed margins, brittle paper or significant staining. |
| C | C The map is in fair condition and still worthy of consideration to a buyer, but with evident imperfections such as tape marks, noteworthy image loss, or ink stains. |
| D | D The map is in poor condition, with major flaws such as an incomplete image, severe water damage or significant discoloration. |
Guarantee of Authenticity
Unless otherwise specified (such as with a later reprint or reproduction), all items are guaranteed to be authentic and in the condition described. A Certificate of Authenticity will be provided for all materials upon request of the buyer. If you have questions about the authenticity or legitimacy of a map you’ve purchased, please contact us immediately.
Privacy Policy
Curtis Wright Maps takes privacy extremely seriously, and will never sell or provide your contact information, purchase history, or personally identifiable information to unauthorized third parties. Information such as name, mailing address, email address, phone number, place of employment, cartographic interests and payment data may be collected through the use of the website, contact forms, email inquiries or in-person events (such as a map fair). At any time, you may send us an email requesting a copy or the destruction of all information collected by Curtis Wright Maps.
In addition, this website leverages the use of cookies to track anonymous user data and statistics in order to better understand how visitors use the site. The use of cookies can be prevented through the security settings in the internet browser. Please note some aspects or functions of the website may not work appropriately if cookie tracking is disabled, but you will still be able to browse the inventory and place an order.
Occasionally, Curtis Wright Maps will notify its mailing list of new acquisitions, clearance inventory or cartographic events. You may request to unsubscribe from these notifications at any time by sending an email, or giving us a call.
Users will be notified of any changes to the privacy policy according to the general terms of use.
