This diagrammatic map covering much of New England presents the operating divisions of the Boston and Maine Railroad, first chartered in 1835. Over 125 years later, the company was experiencing financial stress and looking to axe many of its commuter/passenger services. Various operators are noted according to the legend in the upper right, while the upper left provides an inset of the lines around the Boston metropolitan area.
