Description

This brightly colored pictorial strip map was presumably issued by an association of businesses along U.S. Highway 27, between Florida and Michigan. The route reached Miami in 1949 and was extended into St. Ignace in 1957, but the date can be narrowed down by the presence of U.S. 241 near Columbus, Georgia (replaced in 1954). The highway is brightly colored in red, with distance markers and small illustrations highlighting many of the local attractions along the way.

Based on the ‘cut-off’ nature of the upper and lower panels, the map seems to be an updated edition from an earlier version focused solely on the strip between Ohio and Georgia.
