Description
This relatively simple map of the southwestern United States was published in St. Louis in 1902 by Woodward & Tiernan Printing Company on behalf of the Missouri Pacific Railway. Company lines are highlighted in red alongside the black routes of various competitors and connecting branches.
Topography is depicted in hachure while toponyms identify a fascinating variety of settlements, geographic features, military installations, and more. Timetables and descriptive text are offered on the verso. Here is also noted the upcoming 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis.
