This late 19th century map of Boston was distributed as advertising material for the Copley Square Hotel, still in operation today on Huntington Avenue. A contemporary profile of the building, largely unchanged, can be seen in the upper right adjacent to the title block.

The map features “the fashionable residential portions and principle shopping centers of Boston” and labels the location of prominent merchants, churches, public buildings, and transportation options. A lovely perspective of late Victorian era Boston as seen by societies’ “upper crust.”
