Magic mushrooms, outdated humor, and a bold color scheme are just a few ways that indicate this map of Oklahoma City is from the 1970’s (in addition to the publication date, lower right). Logos of local businesses are scattered throughout cartoon streets and often amusing illustrations of figures engaged in a variety of activities. The National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Lake Hefner, and OKC Zoo are just a few of the many attractions. Also of note is the noble Native American in the lower left; depicted draped in a patterned blanket adorned in the colors of the American Indian Movement.
