Description

This interesting collection of material was prepared and presented by the Board of Auditors of Wayne County, Michigan, in 1926. An organizational chart designed by The Detroit Bureau of Governmental Research, Inc. outlines the various governmental positions and those entities (voters, ex-officio, governor appointments) by which they are chosen. Corresponding salaries range from daily stipends of $4 (board of supervisors & school examiners) to annual compensation of $11,500 (prosecutors and probate court judges). Several roles are marked as No Salary, including the Superintendent of the Institution for the Feeble Minded.

Four maps are also included. A small map of Wayne County (9.5″ x 7.5″) notes the boundaries of townships, villages, and incorporated communities in bright red. The remaining three use vibrant colors to highlight the Congressional, Senatorial, and Representative Districts across the county.
