Description
This lovely abstract overview of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding area highlights the transportation routes, rugged topography, and striking natural beauty available across the southern Appalachian region. Various features like wildlife, landmarks, and historic sites are represented with quaint vignettes, while the underlying landscape is shown by rich blues and lush greens. Various attractions are listed on the verso, which also offers a somewhat rudimentary map of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The striking view was illustrated by Hal Boyer (signed, lower right) and lithographed by MWM Color Press, Inc. of Aurora, Missouri. Copyrighted in 1968 and published by the Missouri Map Company, oddly located in Sarasota, Florida.
