Travel the Great White Way The Sunshine Route to the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Looking to draw in tourists from the Midwestern and Southern states, a travel association published this map promoting “The Great White Way” along U.S. Highway 49 between Memphis, Tennessee and Gulfport, Mississippi. From there, one could take “The Sunshine Route” across the Gulf Coast to Florida and Louisiana.

Each designated path is highlighted in bright red on the map, which covers an area as far north as the Wisconsin border. Highway mileage from nearby cities is also provided adjacent to a photograph showing the newly paved roads available to travelers headed south. Additional photographs and text available on the verso.
