Description
Geographic details take a back seat to the tremendous index of names and bands that fill this map of Louisiana. Created by Gene Tomko in 2015, the image attempts to encapsulate the myriad of important individual contributions to the rich history of American music.
A huge inset in the upper right represents the city of New Orleans, while a handful of scattered portraits depict some of the most iconic musicians from across the state. These include Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Louis Armstrong, among others.
