Description
This promotional booklet was published in 1954 by the Ford Motor Company to celebrate the firm’s fiftieth year of operation. The highlight is the newly-renovated Ford Rotunda, which first appeared at Chicago’s Century of Progress but was moved to Dearborn’s River Rouge plant in the early 1950s. The overhaul includes a weatherbreak dome designed by Buckminster Fuller. The centerfold presents a diagram of the massive Rouge factory facility, which incorporated a vertically integrated production method across a self-contained city.
