This spectacular illustrated view of central Colorado was printed by the Poole Brothers in 1902 on behalf of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad Company. Denver, a major regional hub for the Burlington Route, is planted firmly in the center of the foreground. From here, numerous rail lines and automobile routes stretch into the surrounding foothills and up into the rugged Rocky Mountains.

Peaks, glaciers, and passes are labeled, along with the general areas of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Continental Divide. Various locations of interest include the Grand Lake Lodge, Cripple Creek, Pikes Peak, and the Garden of the Gods.
