This charming large scale map of Northampton, Massachusetts serves as both a campus plan to Smith University, as well as a commercial guide to the town’s business district. The eastern half shows the outline of labeled campus buildings, though the renowned Botanical Garden is notably absent. To the west, retail shops, restaurants, and public buildings are boldly outlined and identified within scrollwork.

The map is dated by the presence of Toto’s Zeppelin at the bottom of the sheet, which was constructed in 1934, opened in 1935, and was destroyed by fire in 1938. Published locally by the Earl C. Green advertising firm.
