This neat promotional map of Ohio and the adjacent states was copyrighted c. 1927 by the Cleveland Automobile Club. It was distributed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company to potential customers as a handy reference, easy to toss in the glove compartment. The image clearly labels the new system of U.S. Numbered Highways, in addition to Ohio’s state routes. The verso offers a mileage table and a list of telephone rates from Ohio cities to various destinations within the map. These are for calls made after 8:30 p.m., after the Night Rate discount had kicked in, and ranged from $.35 to $1.05 for 3 minutes.
