Description
Lenawee County, population of about 100,000, was organized in 1826 and is likely named after the misappropriation of a local indigenous word. It’s situated in the southeastern corner of the ‘glove’ of the lower Michigan peninsula and the county seat is Adrian.
This map was published by the State Highway Department in 1978 and depicts the county network according to the various surfaces of the roads. Airports, golf courses, parks, and fishing sites are also identified according to the legend in the upper right. Townships are labeled and sections are individually numbered within each. A list at the bottom of the sheet notes the location of each organized settlement.
