Description
Get a tasty Bye-Bye Bambi Burger, Mooseballs, or The Chicken that Didn’t Make it Across the Road; all freshly made at the Road Kill Cafe, a novelty themed-diner that began in Greenville, Maine in the early 1990s. It expanded quickly, with six different locations as of the 1996 printing of this promotional poster. Apparently, the roadkill empire was short-lived, as court documents from 2001 reference a successor business, the Frog Rock Cafe, at the original location.
The image offers a relatively basic pictorial overview of Maine and New Hampshire, noting only major interstates and large cities. Back-country humor (some politically charged) describes various features and attractions across each state. Road Kill Cafes are noted in Greenville (world corporate headquarters), Rangeley, York, Bartlett, Gilford, and North Woodstock.
