Description
This interesting brochure presents ‘facts past and present about the Metropolis of the South’ across its sixteen pages. Photographs and text describe various locations of interest, historic sites, and industrial highlights. Of particular note are the Louisiana State Museum and the Hotel Grunewald, the two organizations behind the collaborative publication efforts.
One paragraph references the cancellation of Mardi-Gras during the war, while another mentions the completion of a canal in 1919, hence the approximated date. A folding map affixed to the back cover shows the city center, with an index to ‘Vieux Carre’ identifying nearly 50 different historic locations.
