Description

This attractive view of Colorado, oriented with west at the top, shows the tour routes in operation by the Colorado Transportation Company, a.k.a. the Rocky Mountain Motor Company. Bright red lines emanate from Denver in the foreground and travel through a stylized representation of the state’s varied scenery and topography. Signs of civilization are almost entirely absent, save for the capitol building and a few scattered cabins.

Rolling hills and lush farmland give way to dramatically illustrated mountain ranges. Rocky Mountain National Park is distinctly colored a verdant green. Numerous vignettes highlight particular locations of interest, recreational activities, geographic features, and wild animals. Photographs and timetables on the verso.

Issued in 1955 by the Colorado Transportation Company. Lithographed in Denver by Pikes Peak Lithographing Company.
