This multifaceted railroad map was originally copyrighted in 1915 by the Poole Brothers of Chicago, though this example was issued over a decade later (in 1928) by the Canadian Pacific Railways. It was issued to an American audience, encouraged to ride CPR lines to their favorite vacation destinations during the waning years of the Roaring 20s. The primary image, titled Eastern Canada and New England via Canadian Pacific Railways, highlights how major cities along the upper Midwest and East Coast are accessible via CPR routes (and its affiliates). A comprehensive alphabetical index on the verso lists recommended accommodations for each region, ranging from simple roadside automotive camps to lavish luxury hotels.

Over a dozen insets offer a fascinating snapshot into the primary summer recreation areas accessible along the lines of the Canadian Pacific Railways and its subsidiary steamship lines. They include Niagara Falls and Lake Ontario, the White Mountains District, Thousand Islands and St. Lawrence River, St Andrews By the Bay and Passamaquoddy Bay, the Valley of the St. John’s River, the Maine Coast, the Sydneys and Louisburg, Bras D’Or Lakes of Cape Breton, the Halifax District, Land of Evangeline, Digby and the Annapolis Basin, and Yarmouth and Southern Nova Scotia.
