Description
This beautiful pictorial map is a visual celebration of the history, architecture, and breadth of the lighthouses that have served mariners across the Great Lakes. The region is known for its violent squalls and capricious weather patterns; beginning in the 16th century there have been over 6,000 recorded shipwrecks.
Lighthouses play a critical role in the safe navigation for all craft, especially large commercial vessels. Over 80 separate structures are individually illustrated and labeled. Created and published in Au Train, Michigan by Avery Color Studios in 1990.
