Description

This informative brochure shows Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park, established in 1941 and home to the world’s largest connected subterranean cavern, with over 425 miles of surveyed passageways as of 2025. The primary image offers a detailed overview of the park’s transportation network, guest amenities, and geographic features. Of interest are Crystal Cave and the Great Onyx Cave, two independently operated attractions that competed with Mammoth, but were acquired by the park in the early 1960s. Four trip routes through particular sections of the cave are outlined in diagrams immediately below.

Revised by E.F. Berry in February, 1950. Published by the Government Printing Office in 1961 on behalf of the National Park Service. Descriptive text and photographs on the verso.
