Description
This promotional map highlights the route of U.S. Highway 27 between Mackinaw City, Michigan and Miami, Florida. Across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee, the route is highly truncated, with only a handful of stops noted and the state borders grossly distorted. This reflects the priorities of the publishing authority, the U.S. Highway 27 Association, and its member businesses in towns across Florida and Georgia.
Numerous cities and distances between each are noted across these states, along with various offshoot highways and illustrated vignettes highlighting locations of interest. Accompanying text describes on the side and verso provides additional information of use to the motorist; including local amenities, gas stations, mechanics, recreational opportunities, and more.
Published around 1953, based on the route and listed businesses, by the U.S. Highway 27 Association of Florida. Printed in Orlando by the Florida Press.
