Description
Located in Ypsilanti, thirty miles west of Detroit, Eastern Michigan University was the first college organized to educate teachers west of the Allegheny Mountains and was established in 1849. It’s seen here over 120 years later, in a bird’s eye view issued by the university for the 1972/1973 school year.
A key at the bottom of the sheet identifies the numbered buildings within the image, which also notes the complex parking arrangements that began the plague many college campuses beginning in the 1960’s. The verso features numerous photographs and a small transportation map showing the main roads to access the Eastern Michigan Main Campus.
