Description

This detailed map of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula shows the state on the cusp of the Second Industrial Revolution. Railroads (both completed and projected) can be seen stretching to nearly every corner, including across the Strait of Mackinaw to the UP. County and township development has nearly fully materialized, though a large portion of the state is still shown as inaccessible by road or rail. Two scales – miles and meters – are included.

Published in New York in 1874 by G.W. & C.B. Colton.
