Land claims along the Texas/Oklahoma border.

Description
This heavily modified plat map covers much of Bryan County, adjacent to the Red River in south-central Oklahoma. The small communities of Albany and Wade are simply represented amid a myriad of labeled property owners and land leases. The latter are presumably related to oil and gas production.
Manuscript adjustments and hand-coloring can be seen throughout the image, reflecting heavy use and numerous updates. Created and published anonymously, but ‘R. Fletcher Okla’ can be seen faintly written in the upper margin. ‘Wade District Oklahoma’ written on the verso.
