Description
This interesting compilation of scientific knowledge and understanding was designed by Claude-Joseph Drioux and Charles Leroy and published in Paris by Eugene Bellin. The various elements of the image highlight geographic phenomena across the globe.
Comparisons of the longest rivers, highest mountains, and tallest waterfalls are shown surrounding a double hemisphere chart of astrological constellations. A table lists the size of ancient buildings, while a diagram opposite provides relative heights for prominent landmarks from across the globe. Subterranean data is also provided with a profile view of geologic formations in the lower left.
