This revealing illustration of the White House was drawn by Robert W. Nicholson and originally published as part of the Rotocomic Section of the Philadelphia Inquirer in its Sunday issue of September 23, 1962. Three different cutaways offer a fascinating glimpse into the public rooms across three floors of the building, providing an unusual cross-section of the presidential residence. There is no Oval Office on this sheet, but the Lincoln Bedroom does make an appearance as one of the White House’s most iconic rooms.
