Description
This vibrant pictorial map of the United States highlights the various commercially important trees that grow across the country. Different shades show various forested regions according to the legend in the lower right. Illustrations of over two dozen different species can be seen, with text at the bottom clarifying that “trees shown on this map represent only a few of the more important commercial species found in the United States. These tree types usually grow anywhere within the colored area in which they are shown.”
Further text praises the efforts of the Keep America Green campaign and celebrates the various benefits of the American Tree Farm System. Produced around 1953 by American Forest Products Industries, Inc.; originally a producer of wooden boxes that developed into a large corporation overseeing timber land, sawmills, and lumber yards
