Where is DuPont?

An eerie reminder of the DuPont company’s ubiquity in everyday life.

Although ostensibly an advertisement, this poster instead seems to operate as a warning for the dystopian near-future. A sterilized fantasy world in which scientists operate in glass boxes adjacent to residential neighborhoods is used to highlight how various DuPont products affect everyone’s everyday lives.

Corporate slogans like ‘The Power of One DuPont’ are plastered on walls of huge corporate offices while medical facilities are confined to a small structure near a playground. The demographic diversity comes off as oddly forced, with Chinese rice farmers, a Mexican guitar player, and a Japanese geisha all included and out of place. Even the map’s medium is DuPont – printed on proprietary Tyvek material.
