Description
This fun pictorial map shows the sprawling 2,500 acres of Disney’s ‘Vacation Kingdom’ around Lake Buena Vista, Florida during its first year of operation. The iconic Magic Kingdom theme park (#10) occupies a relatively small footprint on the vast commercial estate in the upper center – nearly equal in size to The Contemporary Resort-Hotel (#11).
Other attractions include Polynesian Village, Fort Wilderness, Blackbeard’s Island, and Seven Seas Lagoon. A variety of Disney characters are shown amid guests engaged in golf, camping, hiking, and swimming. The verso provides information on 2 ‘Wonders of the World’ (the Contemporary Theme and Polynesian Village Resorts), guided tours, and ticket books.
Copyright 1971 by Walt Disney Productions. Walt Disney World officially opened on October 1st of that year, and Roy Disney passed away at age 70 in December.
