Description

This fun little souvenir and promotional item was created by Walt Disney Productions in 1982. It was distributed compliments of the Eastman Kodak Company to guests at the opening season of the Walt Disney World EPCOT Center.

An acronym for “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow”, EPCOT was originally envisioned by Disney to be an experimental planned community, with interconnected industrial, residential, and commercial sectors reflecting the pinnacle of American urban living. After his death in 1966, this idea was abandoned and replaced with an ‘edutainment’-style theme park celebrating human innovation and technological progress.

This handy guide provides a colorful overview of the new attractions, shops, rides, and food options across Future World and the World Showcase. Two maps offer a view of the park and a transportation overview of the entire Disney World complex at Lake Buena Vista. The back cover spins to provide details on various amusements, including Spaceship Earth; while the verso shows information on various Kodak products.
