Description

Golf course designer and landscape architect C.D. Wagstaff designed this impressive collection of three bird’s eye views that typify the ideal American suburban home in the years prior to U.S. entry into World War II. Each sheet presents a multi-image view of the property and highlights various ways in which landscaping and outdoor furniture can be used to accentuate and enhance the home.

Plant recommendations are provided for three climate zones, broadly outlined on the verso of the second sheet. Also included are the original envelope and a small guidebook that outlines best practices for following and adapting the various plans. An advertisement for Vigoro Plant Food is shown on the back page, but otherwise, the entire production is relatively free of corporate intrusion.

Designed by C.D. Wagstaff & Company and published in Chicago by Swift & Company, parent of Vigoro.
