Description
This idyllic scene captures a number of leisurely boaters enjoying a ride on the lake at Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Children feed ducks as well-dressed couples stroll along the sidewalk. Designed by the Chicago Engraving Company and published locally in the mid to late 1880s.
According to an old booksellers label on the verso, “Lincoln Park at the turn of the century…removed from the collection of the Chicago Historical Society and sold for $1 by Powell’s Bookstore. Mounted on a matte of the period.”
