Description

This lovely illustrated view shows the many Sehenswürdigkeiten (sightseeing attractions) available to residents and guests in a Vienna apparently yet untouched by war. Over eighty locations are numbered within the image and listed at the bottom of the sheet, while still further landmarks, buildings, and sites are labeled within the image. Tour routes operated by the Austrian Bus Company (Österreich Autobusgesellschaft) are highlighted in red and described further in text (English, German, and French) on the verso.

The map was illustrated by Alois Mayer and published in Vienna by Kartographisches, formerly the Military Geographical Institute. Many of the locations of interest depicted within the image would suffer tremendous damage during the impending Second World War.
