Description
This city plan of Venice, Italy was published by the firm of A. Longo in the first decade of the 20th century. It was issued by Pauly & C – one of the leading manufacturers of glassware on the nearby island of Murano, likely as a promotional souvenir from an art exhibition.
The map features a detailed outline of Venice with numerous legends identifying the locations of primary streets, hotels, palaces, and churches, while the front cover includes a list of international consuls and a rate table for gondola trips. Several contemporary advertisements for Pauly & C. can be seen in the margins and on the verso.
