Description
“To the ordinary person in the past the question of rainfall has been merely a matter of personal convenience. Today it is different. We are coming to recognize the significance of climatic influences on life.”
This leaflet was published in 1924 by Rand McNally & Company of Chicago to promote Eugene Van Cleef’s Rainfall Map of the United States. The geography professor of the University of Chicago created a ‘faithful record of precipitation in this country’ that incorporates topography with the latest available rainfall totals. Prices range from $8.75 (mounted on cloth with wood rollers) to $14.75 (in a steel spring roller case).
