This colorful guide map presents a charmingly illustrated aerial perspective of Valleyfair amusement park during its first year of operation. Owned by the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the park opened in 1976 on about 30 acres near Shakopee, Minnesota. Despite the new construction, a robust selection of nearly 60 rides, attractions, shops, and guest amenities is shown throughout the image and listed near the bottom. Highlights include the (curiously unnamed) roller coaster, the carousel (a hand-me-down from Excelsior Amusement Park), computer portraits, and a dolphin show.
Amusingly signed in the lower right, “Another miserable masterpiece by Williams – 76.”
