Lovely pictorial map of Florida featuring elements from the Golden Age of Cartography.

Description
This promotional map of Florida heavily emphasizes the historic and exotic nature of the state, featuring numerous illustrations of native Americans, sailing ships, and local wildlife. Sea monsters, a decorative compass rose, and an elaborate title cartouche, elements inspired by maps from the 16th and 17th centuries, also contribute to the antiquarian swashbuckling theme.
Though the aesthetic is old, the information is up to date, and encourages tourism to Florida’s many attractions. Different colored crosses identify five categories: Historic Sites & Memorials, National & State Parks, Gardens & Zoos, Museums & Art Galleries, and Miscellaneous Attractions. Unfortunately, this example is lacking the index that was originally printed on the verso. Published in 1968 by the Florida Power and Light Company.
