Description
Though tours of Universal Studios were offered as early as 1915, the same year it opened; it wasn’t until the acquisition by the Music Corporation of America in 1962 that the modern concept was introduced. Over the following decade, the idea would develop into an entire amusement park dedicated to the entertainment industry.
This panorama of ‘The Entertainment Center of the World’ was issued in 1968, and shows a wonderful variety of set constructions. Attractions are relatively limited, but the War Lord Tower can be seen dominating the skyline (along with the Sheraton Universal Hotel).
