The wonderful geographic diversity of the United States is on full display in this vibrant molded plastic topographic map. The extreme elevations of the Rockies contrast sharply with the low-lying East Coast and Mississippi Valley. Bright colors correspond to particular heights, as outlined in the legend lower center.
Within the image, major urban centers are identified according to population and prominent geographic features are individually labeled. The outlines of a few scattered National Parks can be seen in the Northeast and Canada, but are oddly omitted from the rest of the country. Made in West Germany by Relieftechnik circa 1980.
