Description

This sheet shows black-and-white reductions of three separate maps published in 1945 by various engineer battalions assigned to the same army as the 5th Armored Division. Each map represents a different portion of the division’s campaign across the European Theater of Operations, from Normandy to the Elbe River.

The route of each separate Combat Command (CC) within the division’s organizational structure is shown in a simple style over a nearly featureless base map, while notable actions are described in some detail. An accompanying text box in the lower right succinctly summarizes the action depicted in each map and provides a more nuanced chronology of the Victory Division in Europe. F
