One sheet includes the beginning of the First Epistle of John and features St. John the Evangelist on Patmos. The “O” initial shows a kingly figure on a throne, possibly representing God the Father. The second sheet is topped with a scene of the Prophet Hosea preaching to a crowd, with the initial “V” showing St. Vernonia holding the veil with the image of Christ’s face.
