Description
This clever diagrammatic map of Europe omits most cities, geographic features, and transportation options in favor of a straightforward route planner. Railway lines stretching from Inverness to Palermo and between Gibraltar and St. Petersburg are accompanied by approximate travel time in hours (red) and estimated fare rates for different classes. Transatlantic steamer ports are underlined in red and additional transportation details for each European nation are provided on the verso, in addition to general travel information.
Drawn by R. Korbgeweidt and published in Berlin by Hobbing & Co., G.m.b.H., probably in the first decade of the 20th century.
