Description
This wonderful promotional brochure was published in 1939 by C.S. Hammond & Co. in conjunction with the World’s Fair held that year in Queens, New York. It was distributed as free advertising material for the Warwick Hotel, and contains all the necessary information a potential guest would need to enjoy ‘The World of Tomorrow’ at the fair.
One side, emblematic of ongoing shifts in transportation habits of all Americans, shows two maps; a stylized transit map of the greater New York area as well as a road map which includes a much broader area. (The location of the Warwick is noted on both).
The verso provides a detailed plan of the fair grounds as well as a beautiful illustrated panorama, dominated by the iconic Trylon and Perisphere in the center.
