Calling All Albanians!

This ephemeral and sarcastic poster was published anonymously by ‘An Equally Opportunist Employer’ in the late 1970s to make fun of the endlessly confusing structure of the Communist Party. Designed to look like a business organizational chart (well-known in our capitalist society), the image presents the (fictitious) U.S. Association for the Study of Scientific Marxism-Leninism (Enver Hoxasist) as the latest successor of communist ideals in a long, deliberately baffling flowchart ranging from 1956 (top) to 1977 (bottom). Text at the top of the page notes the organization is looking for “people who wish to infiltrate and destroy other similar leftist organizations.”
