Description

This map was originally drawn in 1942 and issued shortly thereafter by the Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau. Looking to draw tourists to the region, the image highlights the natural beauty and easy accessibility of the Rocky Mountains. Illustrations of summer and winter activities are found on either side and transportation routes feature prominently on the map.

Recommended itineraries on the verso cater to all audiences, from prospectors hunting for gold to city dwellers looking for an outdoor escape. Prospector’s trails are also included in the legend, showing the closely associated identity between gold and the West.
