Description

Over 150 different buildings and attractions featured at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago are shown on this small map, designed to be folded and carried in a pocket. It was published by the Globe Lithography and Printing Company on behalf of the Chicago Scale Company, and distributed as a promotional souvenir at the fair.

Advertisements for the firm, located at 151 South Jefferson, can be seen on the verso. They include images of several products and text which reads “We sell thousands of useful Articles, saving our customers one-half to two-thirds their money.”

Condition Description: Worn along the outer edges and vertical fold line, and a faint spot of discoloration visible along the top of the card. Further discoloration on the verso, likely from old adhesive.
