This fascinating collection of eight different maps was published as part of A.J. Johnson’s Family Atlas in 1864. Each image shows a wealth of information on a different aspect of the natural world; including the distribution of plants, birds, and animals, average rainfall, ocean currents, land features, temperature, and productive industries.
The verso shows the coats of arms of each of the 34 United States of America- an especially relevant collection considering the date of publication during the midst of the Civil War.
