Description

This charming view of the cosmopolitan city center of London is oriented with east at the top of the sheet. The River Thames can be seen running along the right side of the image, while many of London’s most famous attractions are skillfully illustrated in full color. Historic sites like the Shakespeare Theatre and St. Paul’s Cathedral are depicted alongside spectacular examples of modern day architecture, including the pickle-shaped structure affectionately known as the Gherkin.

Underground stations are noted throughout. Drawn by Katherine Baxter and published by The Times in 2006.
